Curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) to ensure children are provided with the essential skills and knowledge they need for their overall development. The children have opportunities to develop resilience, explore relationships, and to learn to resolve conflicts, negotiate and regulate their behaviours.
Our highly qualified staff plan your child’s learning and development by providing activities that capture their imagination and follow their interests. We aim to nurture, care and inspire every child, allowing them to learn and develop on a daily basis. We create environments which allow children to display the characteristics of effective learning by enabling children to play and explore, actively learn and create and think critically. This has been clearly shown to ease the transition to primary school and lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning!
Key Person
Each child is assigned to a Key Person. Your child’s Key Person will take a special interest in and develop a close relationship with you and your child. This will ensure that your child’s needs are being met. Before they start Preschool, your Key Person will discuss your child’s likes and dislikes with you and any routines or special requirements you may have. The Key Person will be responsible for observing and monitoring your child’s development whilst they are in preschool.
By observing children and their interests, we challenge and extend their next steps through high quality interactions between children and staff. You will receive feedback on your child’s progress via verbal feedback and Tapestry, an online system which gives you anytime access to your child’s personal Learning Journal. We love to hear of children’s special interests at home as this helps us to plan our activities. You can also make your own comments and add photographs to Tapestry if you wish.
