On arrival at Preschool children hang up coats in the cloakroom and change into their indoor shoes/pumps. Children will have their own labelled peg and a pump bag is provided for each child. Peg, pump bags and name cards all have your child’s special picture printed on it as well as their name! Any toys brought from home can be put in to the “Going Home Box”.
With a focus on child led play, children are free to access all toys, games and equipment as they choose. There will also be opportunities for them to take part in smaller group or one to one activities with an adult, and whole group activities such as story time, show and tell or singing which are always very popular.
There is a free flow system between the indoor and outdoor areas and the children can access the fantastic outside provision in all weathers. Coats and wellies are provided for days when the weather isn’t so good and on sunnier days there is plenty of shade available on the decking and under a large canopy in the main outside area.
A healthy snack and a drink of milk or water is offered during the morning session. Snack time and lunchtimes are always a buzz of chatter and provide a great opportunity for the children to develop their social and emotional skills and independence.
