Government Early Education Funding

Menston Preschool is registered to receive the Government’s Early Education Funding. This is provided by Bradford Council and consists of the 15 hours ‘Universal Entitlement’ and up to 30 hours ‘Extended Entitlement. Universal hours
Under the current scheme all 3 and 4 year olds are eligible to receive 15 hours funded childcare a week. These are referred to as 'universal hours'.

Extended Hours
Some working families will also be eligible to claim additional hours, up to 30 a week. These are referred to as 'extended hours.' To claim extended hours, you need to provide Preschool with a 30-hour code and some other information such as national insurance number and DOB. In all cases children become eligible for funded hours in the term following their 3rd birthday. As follows:

Autumn term funding: Your child must have had their 3rd birthday during the period 1st April - 31st August.

Spring term funding: Your child must have had their 3rd birthday during the period 1st September - December 31st

Summer term funding: Your child must have had their 3rd birthday during the period 1st January - 31st March

Two year old funding:
Some families may be eligible to claim for 15 hours funding for their 2 year old. You can read more information and check eligibility for the 2 year old funding by following the Childcare choices link at the top of the page.  

The Early Years funding can be split between different settings and Parents can pay for any additional hours that are attended. See examples below: 

1. A child eligible for the extended hours attends two different settings. 21 hours at setting one and 12 hours with Menston Preschool. The funding, fees would be split as follows:
Setting one: 21 hours funding is claimed.
Menston Preschool: 9 hours funding is claimed and an invoice for 3 hours a week is issued.
 

2. A child eligible for the Universal hours only attends Menston Preschool for 21 hours a week. Funding is claimed for 15 hours a week and an invoice is issued for 6 hours a week. 

Menston Preschool’s fee’s are currently set at £6.50 per hour. Invoices are issued in the middle of each term and can be paid flexibly, in installments, by arrangement with the Business Manager. For two year olds that are not eligible for funding all hours attended are charged at the above rate. 

We except payments by BACS transfer, cash and cheques.
