Typical Day

Outside Activity

On arrival at Preschool children hang up coats and change into their indoor shoes/pumps in the cloakroom. A pump bag is provided for each child.

Each child then collects their name badge from the board and takes it into Preschool when the doors open (at 9.00am, or 12.00/12.30pm). A member of staff greets all children when they arrive.

All children then put their name in a box for registration in the classroom. Any toys brought from home can be put in to the “Going Home Box”.

Children have a free choice of all the activities available throughout the session. They may sometimes be encouraged to engage in small group work or one to one activities with a member of staff.

A healthy snack is offered, free of charge, in the mornings. All children are encouraged to have a drink of milk or water and a snack.

We offer a lunch club where children bring their own packed lunch.

The last 15 minutes of each session is dedicated to a group activity such as story time, show and tell or singing. Any pieces of artwork are also handed out at this time.

At the end of the day a member of staff brings the children out to their parent/carer. The doors to Preschool are locked throughout the day.
